About Me

Welcome to Inside Tech. My name is Steve and I’m a computer enthusiasts. I enjoy figuring out new things to do and try with my computers, sometimes it isn’t always easy. As a father of three kids sometimes you spend more time “fighting fires” than you do trying to figure things out. Distractions are always an issue, but at the end of the day it’s our families that matter most to all of us. When you have something you need to get up and running and are distracted with whatever challenges life throws your way, don’t worry. I’m here for you. I know what it’s like to have a million different things happening .

Sometimes I fell like it’s impossible to focus while my little people are awake, but sometimes you just have to push through to accomplish the goal you have set. Sometimes we get the idea that we can put our goals on the back burner and get to them eventually, but life doesn’t really work that way. We need to grab life by the horns and do something to reach your goal.

Even though I have a degree in engineering, I love working with computers and using them to make everyday issues easier. In high school I would program my trusty graphing calculator to solve equations that I used frequently. In college, I upgraded my programming to excel, now that I have graduated I’m working on the home automation thing that is all the rage right now. I haven’t taken courses for programming, but learning a new skill doesn’t require taking class. It only requires you to act.

For me, going out and buying the latest gadget takes the excitement and discovery out of technology. There is definitely a feeling of accomplishment when you manage to get your lights to turn on by themselves, or when you can relax with a cold lemonade on a hot summer day while you watch your lawn mower run itself. The possibilities are endless.

I was going to college, I worked in IT. It was just something to pay the bills and wasn’t related to my major at all. I learned that there are tons of incredible things that you can do with computers. There are a lot of things in the IT world that I don’t know, but there’s a good chance that if you are asking about those things than you already know how to do them.

The thing I liked the most about being in IT was the excitement and Joy a person felt when they not only had a solved problem, but they finally had that “Aha” moment and understood the what and how about their problem. Whether a person’s problem is a computer virus, a formula in excel, or a grueling math problem, when we finally solve it we feel empowered.

It’s in that moment when we feel like we are on top of the world, that we each need to let our momentum carry us higher. I like helping people stand a little taller, to reach a little higher, to feel like they have achieved the impossible.

My goal is to help you understand how the technology you use everyday works. I’ll be going over everything from computer hardware, to micro controllers and programming, to programs. Whatever it is I’ll be your guide to help you understand more about what’s going on with the tech you use. Stick with me and I’ll help you solve your tech problems. If you need help and I don’t know the answer, I’ll let you know and I’ll help you come up with a solution.

If you ever need a hand or have any questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out.

All the best,
